This name both reflected the growth of our Hamlet and our location to the Provincial Park and Lake. In 2002/03 the Hamlet changed its name to the present name of Good Spirit Acres.
SPIRIT OF THE NORTH PLOT FULL
The Hamlet continued to grow with both seasonal and full time permanent residents. The back nine of the course was developed and opened by the late 1980’s.The Hamlet itself grew under the residential development that in 1985 the Hamlet of Spiritwood Acres was established. The Hamlet began to grow and expand around the further development of the golf course. The front nine was opened for golfing in 1982. The Hamlet of Good Spirit Acres, Saskatchewan, is situated on the original home quarter of the Matt SPILCHEN family farm, approximately 2 km south of the Good Spirit Provincial Park and lake.īarry Spilchen and his wife Eileen started building a golf course on the property in the early 1980’s.When the first 9 holes were built (front 9) the SPILCHEN’s then developed residential housing along the golf course property. We are an undiscovered paradise, a true gem that would love for you to come out and visit and then to consider purchasing a property out here. Award winning snowmobile trails offer warm up shacks as you travel through the scenic winter paths along the Trans Canada Trail.
Our winter season is full with groomed cross country ski and snow shoe trails. Our Community Association keeps us linked with annual events and fun gatherings. In summer, after golfing and enjoying the beach, we offer bike trails, community barbeques and get togethers. The beach restaurant and store provides merchandise ,snacks, ice cream and food services. Anglers fish many a walleye or pike here and boaters enjoy the skiing and boating sports, often stopping at the Dunes for a picnic. The beautiful white sand beach of Good Spirit Lake allows swimmers to walk in great distances making it a warm, family friendly beach in a Provincial Park. During winter, this park offers a lighted outdoor skating rink. Available to rent is a summer rental hall, complete with barbeques and indoor seating with change rooms and a bathroom. The park at Spilchen Meadows boasts a nicely equipped playground with a pirate ship, a pickle ball court and a paved basketball court. ** The restaurant is currently closed due to Covid restrictions.
